Firefly #1 9x12 inches on Multi Media Paper

Fireflies and Lavender are summer time favorites of mine. This firefly was painted using fresh lavender stems and blossoms from my garden. I used the sturdy stems almost like a stamp.

Did you know that fireflies or lightning bugs as they are sometimes called, are actually beetles? I think it depends on what part of the country you live in. ;)

This original acrylic painting is on a multi media paper and varnished to prevent fading, just like the rest of my art work.

This piece is shipped wrapped in Glassine paper and between two flat 11 x 14 backer boards.

You will need to purchase an 11 x 14 inch frame with a 9 x 12 mat. Pop it in (under the glass) and it will be ready to hang. I think this would be stunning in a black frame with white matting.
